Editing
Romantic-Comedy films tend to stick to a more soft and simple style of editing so it doesn't stray from the comedic side of the film. Less cuts are done as the editor wants the audience to understand what is happening and not be clueless to the story line. However, cross cuts are often used in romantic comedies to show what each character is doing and how it differs to what their love interest is doing at the same time. Split screen editing is also common, it shows two shorts directing at the side of one another and shows the actions of two different people. It is often used to show juxtaposition between two characters and how they go about their daily lives.
