This shot includes two people in the same shot often male and female, it is most frequently used to show a relationship between two people. It is used in romantic comedies to show a relationship develop between two characters and how the characters become comfortable with one another comparing their first scene together, in which they would be tense and awkward, to their last scene together which would be comfortable. Another common shot is Over the Shoulder shot or reaction shot. These two shots show the reactions from people as their significant other is speaking or doing an action. These type of shots help support the story line as well as the development of two characters relationship and how their comfort level with one another begins to increase. Over the shoulder shots in particular have the power to establish a relationship or friendship with the main characters. Furthermore, close ups are also extremely common in romantic comedies as it allows the audience to see each characters facial expression as well as determine a characters true feelings. They show whether a character feels hurt, upset or in love. Whilst close up shots are used to show a characters facial expression a long shot is used to show a characters body language and to show a character compared to the setting at that current moment. It allows the audience to see how comfortable characters are with one another and how strong their relationship is.

Editing
Romantic-Comedy films tend to stick to a more soft and simple style of editing so it doesn't stray from the comedic side of the film. Less cuts are done as the editor wants the audience to understand what is happening and not be clueless to the story line. However, cross cuts are often used in romantic comedies to show what each character is doing and how it differs to what their love interest is doing at the same time. Split screen editing is also common, it shows two shorts directing at the side of one another and shows the actions of two different people. It is often used to show juxtaposition between two characters and how they go about their daily lives.

The audience knows how Walter schemes to get Bruce in trouble but in the film Bruce is unaware of Walter's actions. Restricted Narration A restricted narration limits the amount of information that the audience receives. The audience will only receive information through the narration of a single character. This biases the audience towards on
