The radio trailer starts with some dialogue from the film. The term 'houston' is used during this dialogue will instantly alludes to the genre of the film which is science fiction, this immediatly tells the audience what the film is about without going into lots of detail. Due to this trailer been on the radio it needs to be quick, a lot of detail doesn't need to be included in the trailer as they usually only last around 30 seconds, sometimes even shorter. After around 2 seconds of dialogue, the narrator begins to talk about what critics have said about the film. This is often done in order to attract the audience to go see the film as hearing reviews about a film generally makes someone want to go see a film. When the narrator finishes talking about one review a critic gave it, more dialogue from the film is used. This is done in order to give the audience/listener a sneak peak. The narrator then goes on to describe the film by only usuing a few words, while this is happening music begins to build up in the background. This indicates the film has a challenge that the characters will have to overcome in order to survive in space. This will build antcipation amongst the audience as although science fiction is a well established genre it only has a niche market. Once the music begins to balance out, the narrator begins to round off the trailer. The name of the company that distributed the film is mentioned ( Warner Bros. Pictures) by saying - Warner Brothers Pictures presents Gravity. As well as the distribution company the name of the director ( Alfonso Cuarón) and the two main characters (Sandra Bullock and George Clooney). These two actors are extremely high profile and well know around the world, by mentioning the actors in the radio trailer it may attract more people to go see the film as they may be fans of them. This is known as celebrity endorsement. The trailer is ended with the name of the film (Gravity) and that it is avaliable to watch in 3D and is in cinemas now. By mentioning the film can be watched in 3D it suggests that the film is better when watched in 3D.
