Ideas for our Viral Ad

As a way to advertise our film, the method of a viral ad is usually the most common and successful as they often reach out to audiences and fans engaging their attention and equally exciting them for our film. An idea for our viral ad is to horizontally integrate and collaborate with the company who design the style and brand of backpacks we model and use in our film. My reasoning for this is, our film is set in a college and thus contains a lot of scenes with the make of school bags, moreover, one of the key scenes involves a bag and is pivotal to the plot, the
key scene has a close-up shot of the bag which presents the bag's look and design, with the make of bag having such a large screen time, the chances of audience members seeing the bag and liking its design are higher. With the image of the bags being such a prevalent aspect and role within our film, we are widely advertising the fashion label's make of bag. For the viral ad, we would advertise on social media that for backpack bags bought at Topman and certain shirts bought, on the receipt would be a code, the code will then win you prizes (bags/shirts/discounts) or points that go towards the top prize of free tickets to see our film. Topman (the store that makes the brand of bags) would therefore be advertising our film and drawing in wider customers and in return we would equally be advertising for Topman and drawing greater business in for them. We would advertise this deal on social media as our target audience is teens and young adults and in this digital age, social media is prevalent in their lives. We would also advertise in Topman stores with posters around UK stores advertising the competition, film, and prizes. This idea for a viral ad uses iconography and synergy (much like The Dark Knight Rises viral ad campaign) as our viral ad incorporates the key images from our film and generic conventions of our film.

Unrestricted and Restricted Narration Research

Narration Narration is the act of telling a story as well as the flow of story information moment by moment over the course of a film. Unrestricted Narration (Omniscient) Unrestricted narration has no restrictions to every aspect of the film. It tells and shows the audience everything whilst the characters in the film remain oblivious to the narration. The viewer knows more than the characters. An example of an unrestricted narrative in a film is His Girl Friday by Howard Hawks (1940). The film shows different characters and scenes. The audience acquires more knowledge about the characters whilst the characters don't know much. The audience knows how Walter schemes to get Bruce in trouble but in the film Bruce is unaware of Walter's actions. Restricted Narration A restricted narration limits the amount of information that the audience receives. The audience will only receive information through the narration of a single character. This biases the audience towards on

Settings of a Romantic-Comedy | Amber Smales

Settings The location in which a Romantic-Comedy is filmed often depends who the film is aimed at. If the film is a teen rom-com then the typical locations are: High School University A party These films tend to be filmed in these specific locations as teens can often relate to the characters struggles as well as the types of characters in high schools. As this particular genre of film doesn't stray from reality the locations of teen rom-coms suit the genre. However, Romantic-Comedies that are aimed towards over 18 year old tend to be filmed in cities such as London, New York or Paris. Paris and New York are extremely common locations for rom-com films as they are seen as cities in which love blooms. These cities are extremely well known, fast faced and these locations allow the directors to show the daily life of a character as well as show the audience a more believable perspective of characters. Furthermore, these cities offer many opportunities which allows r
