Possible Distributor

Screen Gems

Screen Gems is an American film production and distribution studio that is a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment's Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group. It has served several different purposes for its parent companies over the decades since its incorporation. Many of its releases are of the horror, thriller, action, comedy and urban genres. Screen Gems is the subsidiary of the Big Six conglomerate Sony and therefore is highly professional in the production and distribution of their films and could receive a larger budget than other Independent distributors and producers due to it's giant parent company.
Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. (known simply as Sony Pictures and abbreviated as SPE) is an American entertainment company that produces and distributes films through multiple platforms. Its group sales in the fiscal year 2015 (April 2015 – March 2016) has been reported to be of $8.3 billion further suggesting that due to Screen Gems being a subsidiary of Sony Pictures, there budget would be relatively high and have a wide audience. Sony Pictures is a huge company with it's headquarters being based in Tokyo, Sony Pictures Entertainment itself is currently operated as a subsidiary of Sony Film Holding Inc.; a subsidiary of Sony Entertainment Inc., which is itself a subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America. That amazingly is a subsidiary of Sony Americas Holding Inc., which is a subsidiary of the Tokyo-based multinational technology and media conglomerate Sony Corporation. This therefore evidences how big a company Sony is and how much budget they would be able to provide us, how far they would be able to distribute our film which would therefore bring in a much wider audience ergo higher profit and larger overall gross. Following on from large and successful gross and profits, the subsidiary Screen Gems has produced and distributed famous films such as; Friends with Benefits, About Last Night and Think Like a Man

These films generated a huge gross each and evidenced the success of Screen Gems production team and their wide audience to distribute to. With our film being of the Romantic Comedy genre, big films such as those mentioned above doing so well and coming under the same genre supports why Screen Gems would be a good distributor as they have been successful with big blockbuster romantic comedy films and receive backing from their parent company; Sony Pictures which would hopefully further promote our film. When "Friends with Benefits" was produced, both Screen Gems and Sony integrated to make the film a huge blockbuster hit, so with Screen Gems being our desired distributor, Sony Pictures could hopefully help distribute and produce along with us and Screen Gems reaching a wider audience and ultimately a greater film. Following on from this, Sony would be able to produce "Rendezvous" through vertical integration meaning it would be cheaper and easier to make so the profit would be high ergo a high overall gross. Screen Gems would be our desired distributor as they are a subsidiary of a huge conglomerate company Sony Corporation and would be most likely to accept our request to distribute our film. Screen Gems have been behind big blockbuster films that have recorded high gross profits and with the backing of Sony Pictures would help us produce and distribute a successful film to a wide audience gaining a high gross.

Unrestricted and Restricted Narration Research

Narration Narration is the act of telling a story as well as the flow of story information moment by moment over the course of a film. Unrestricted Narration (Omniscient) Unrestricted narration has no restrictions to every aspect of the film. It tells and shows the audience everything whilst the characters in the film remain oblivious to the narration. The viewer knows more than the characters. An example of an unrestricted narrative in a film is His Girl Friday by Howard Hawks (1940). The film shows different characters and scenes. The audience acquires more knowledge about the characters whilst the characters don't know much. The audience knows how Walter schemes to get Bruce in trouble but in the film Bruce is unaware of Walter's actions. Restricted Narration A restricted narration limits the amount of information that the audience receives. The audience will only receive information through the narration of a single character. This biases the audience towards on

Settings of a Romantic-Comedy | Amber Smales

Settings The location in which a Romantic-Comedy is filmed often depends who the film is aimed at. If the film is a teen rom-com then the typical locations are: High School University A party These films tend to be filmed in these specific locations as teens can often relate to the characters struggles as well as the types of characters in high schools. As this particular genre of film doesn't stray from reality the locations of teen rom-coms suit the genre. However, Romantic-Comedies that are aimed towards over 18 year old tend to be filmed in cities such as London, New York or Paris. Paris and New York are extremely common locations for rom-com films as they are seen as cities in which love blooms. These cities are extremely well known, fast faced and these locations allow the directors to show the daily life of a character as well as show the audience a more believable perspective of characters. Furthermore, these cities offer many opportunities which allows r
